FAIRFAX, Va., Sep 12, 2011 (BUSINESS WIRE) --
ManTech International Corporation (NASDAQ:MANT) dedicated a new facility near the U.S. Army Aberdeen Proving Ground (APG) today. ManTech expects to have 300 to 500 technology jobs at the location supporting U.S. Army programs at APG.
The facility is located at 4696 Millennium Drive at the Water's Edge Corporate Campus in Belcamp, Md. and ManTech occupies approximately one-half of the 125,000 square feet of space. Nearly 800 ManTech employees are currently based in Maryland and support a number of federal government and U.S. military organizations.
ManTech Chairman and CEO George J. Pedersen called attention to the important work ManTech is performing throughout Maryland and the significant number of technology jobs it brings to the state.
"I am proud to be here with you to bear witness to our growing workforce in Maryland," said Mr. Pedersen. "We go where our customers go, and the growth of the Army and domestic agencies in Maryland means that we will be able to offer more high-quality jobs in this state. The Aberdeen Proving Ground is scheduled to get more work and to increase its workforce over the next several years, and we plan to grow with it. Maryland is a fine state where we have outstanding, committed employees working every day to keep our nation and our troops safe."
In remarks at the ceremony, Rep. C.A. Dutch Ruppersberger, who represents Maryland's Second District in the U.S. House of Representatives, welcomed ManTech's growing presence in Maryland. He said, "I am proud to join ManTech for this exciting occasion because they work to protect our warfighters and intelligence workers who are keeping us safe, including protecting sensitive computer networks from the threat of cyber attacks."
Officials representing the APG, the state of Maryland and Harford County also attended the event.
