Community Commitment

We believe in philanthropy, volunteerism, and community involvement giving ManTech a way to contribute in a direct way to the communities in which we live and work. We take a broad view of community, and we aim to use our strength as a large company to make a difference in the world, in our nation, and in our own backyard. We also feel strongly the need to support, through voluntary and philanthropic efforts, the service members and others we support in our work.

While a corporation can make a contribution by making charitable donations, we believe it is equally important to use our organizational and financial strength to help our employees serve the community. We seek to engage our employees in community and charitable efforts that call for individual action and commitment. We encourage our employees to take initiatives and form communities at work to support worthy causes through donations and volunteerism.

 

Outreach

A corporation must never lose sight of the fact that it is made up of people and that it eventually serves people. We must always act with the public interest in mind, and we must be a part of our community. So our activities do more than promote good will; they reflect our values and build a sense of purpose among our people and in our corporate institution. Our community service also reminds us that we’re about more than just profits; we are committed to making real contributions to our communities, large and small.

Some of the ways ManTech and our employees have been serving their communities include supporting our troops and their families. We have organized care package mailings for soldiers in Iraq, supported the Life with Cancer program, sponsored military family support events at Army installations, and donated items to wounded soldiers recovering at Walter Reed Army Medical Center. We also support a variety of local and national charities such as The Salvation Army, CharityWorks, and the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots Program. Our employees participate in Ivymount School's Transition-to-Work Program for special students and sponsor a variety of events that raise money for diabetes, and breast cancer awareness and research.

Sustainability: Reduce environmental impact by proactively preventing pollution and reducing waste in our operations. ManTech believes that we can make a difference in our community through recycling paper, plastics, computers, and electronics.

ManTech Goes Green

ManTech is committed to environmental stewardship as a responsible citizen and leader in the community. We believe we must do what we can to carry out business with minimum environmental impact. To achieve that goal, we adopted programs to minimize waste and energy usages, created a culture of sustainability and environmental awareness, and encourage our employees to be environmentally conscious on and off the job.

We maximize our contribution to protecting the environment by focusing internally on green initiatives and aggressively helping our customers meet their environmental objectives.

The ManTech Green Council, which includes representatives from across the company, works to generate, encourage, vet ideas, and establish programs that the entire company can utilize to help protect our environment.
